About the Artist:

Justyn Michael Zolli is an American Visual Artist, an art restorer, and a scholar of art history and aesthetics. He is currently based in Northern California.

His work in the Sacred Arts includes the disciplines of painting, drawing, painted murals, woodwork, and architectural stained-glass; related projects have included lectures, workshop teaching, and restoration projects of historic and religious art.

He has completed many commissions for public, religious, and private institutions. His commissioned works of sacred art are in many religious buildings including: Our Lady of Fatima Russian Byzantine Catholic Church, San Francisco CA; St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, Benicia, CA; The monastery of the Contemplatives of Saint Joseph, South San Francisco CA; and the private chapel-residence of Archbishop Kyrill of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, SF.

He completed his Art Foundation studies at Rhode Island School of Design, Providence RI. He then attended The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Tufts University, completing his BFA degree (1998). Upon graduation he was awarded the Will Barnet Award in Painting. More recently, in 2020 Justyn began academic studies at the Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology, Berkeley, where he is presently working towards an M.A.Theology degree with a concentration in Aesthetics. In 2021 he was awarded a prestigious Civitas Dei Fellowship by the Thomistic Institute, Catholic University of America, Washington DC.

Justyn has traveled extensively within India, western Europe, The British Isles, Mexico's Mayan Yucatan Peninsula, and throughout North America researching the holy sites, mural painting practices, and sacred temple building principles of many cultures. Additionally, Justyn has held professional appointments as an artist and Exhibition Preparator in eminent museums of Fine Art and History, working with priceless collections of artworks and historic/religious artifacts. He has exhibited his creative works in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and contemporary art fairs nationwide, and his artwork is held in many private collections nationwide and internationally.

Presently, he maintains a large art studio in the Benicia Arsenal Arts District in Benicia, CA.
